Corporate, Financial and General Policy Information

The Humane Society of Westchester is a private, non-profit 501 (c) 3 corporation EIN 13-1740009

We were founded in 1911, incorporated as the New Rochelle Humane Society in 1922, and received our tax-exempt determination letter from the IRS in 1941. We recently changed our name from the New Rochelle Humane Society, so many of the reports and documentation are listed under our former name.  We file a Form 990 with the IRS and the Annual Filing CHAR 500 with the New York State Attorney General’s office. Our financial statements are audited by a Certified Public Accountant.

Summary of 2023 financial results:

Our audited financial statement as of October 31, 2023 showed Assets in excess of $9,100,000. We had revenues of $3,669,244 and expenses of $1,581,043 for the fiscal year ending October 31, 2023. Our auditor issued an unqualified opinion.

For more information, please refer to the report from our CPA for the fiscal year 2022 that includes the details of our revenues and expenses for the year.
