Willie is a great example of why we pull dogs from southern shelters. A very special sweet boy, Willie was brought in on March of 2019 by Terrell County Animal Control in Dawson, Georgia.A stray, broken and abused, with time he was able to show them his true personality. The shelter workers are inmates at the County prison and Willie was loved very much by them. When Willie arrived in New York in February, 2022 he had such an adorable, happy prance in his step. Willie was adopted days after his arrival. His new family saw how loving and sweet he is and made it official. We notified the Terrell County Animal Control immediately that he was adopted. Their response had us all in tears:
“Thank you from my heart for sharing this. When he tested heartworm positive I was afraid that would be the end of his story, but there was something in his eyes that said, “help me”. I knew then that he was special and deserved every chance we could give him. I am one proud mama and so thankful that he now has the life he deserves and a family that sees what a kind soul Willie is . Again, we are eternally grateful for the chance you have given him. Love from all of us at Terrell County!”
